There are some signs of change in the freight market as we head into September.

According to the latest Logistics Managers’ Index reported by FreightWaves, transportation capacity continued to decline in August, although it did so at the slowest pace in six months. Transportation utilization increased, and transportation prices moved higher again.

If you work in trucking, those numbers are worth paying attention to.

The freight market has been through plenty of ups and downs over the last few years. Nobody knows exactly what the next several months will bring, but the latest report points to a market where available capacity remains tight and trucks are being utilized more heavily.

We’re looking for experienced CDL-A drivers for local, regional and OTR opportunities. Depending on the position and location, home-daily opportunities may be available too.

And you don’t necessarily need flatbed experience to get started with us.

Qualified drivers with at least nine months of Class A driving experience can be considered for flatbed training. We’ll help you learn the securement side of the job, including working with chains, straps and binders, along with the different requirements that come with hauling flatbed freight.

It’s hands-on work, and it’s not for everybody. But if you’ve wanted to get into flatbed and haven’t had the opportunity, Beemac may be a place to do it.

What Can Drivers Expect at Beemac?

What This Means Going Into Fall

The latest freight numbers can’t tell us what the market will look like a few months from now.

They do tell us that available transportation capacity remains tight and utilization has increased. The logistics professionals surveyed for the LMI also expect tighter capacity and higher transportation pricing pressures to continue over the next 12 months.

For us, the day-to-day job hasn’t changed. We need to take care of our customers and make sure our drivers have what they need to get the job done.

And right now, we’re looking for more CDL-A drivers to do it.
